Siemens Hearing Aids

Over a Century Old, Siemens Hearing Instruments Knows Hearing Aids

Siemens hearing aids are part of a proud tradition of quality and innovation. The largest hearing aid manufacturer in the United States, Siemens also designs audiological software and other assistive listening devices to help hearing healthcare professionals and the hearing impaired. Siemens has over 125 years of experience in working with hearing aids and hearing assistance, and is a subsidiary of German technology giant Siemens AG, the world's seventh-largest employer.

Siemens hearing aids can trace their origins to a member of the von Siemens family, Werner von Siemens. Mr. von Siemens designed one of the first amplified hearing aids in 1878. The "hearing aid" was a telephone handset with powerful amplification, although it wasn't like any product you'll find at a hearing aid store. In 1913, Siemens introduced the Phonophor hearing aid, which was composed of a battery, a microphone and a receiver; users carried it in a handbag when it wasn't in use. A year later, Siemens enhanced the hearing aid with a miniature receiver that sat close to the eardrum, and the modern Siemens hearing aid thus had a clear ancestor.

Siemens hearing aids generally originate from three different American locations: Piscatawy, NJ, Prospect Heights, IL, and La Mirada, CA. You can find quality Siemens products at our many locations.
